Eli’s Eats in the Streets: A Culinary Delight on Wheels

When you see that bright red trailer behind the big grey Dodge, you know you’re in for a delectable treat.

Eli’s Eats in the Streets is a local food vendor and caterer who is dishing out some of the best pizza, sliders, and tallow fries in the area.

Owner Gary Lokers has a secret to his one-of-a-kind pizza~his homemade sourdough starter recipe.

It’s a masterpiece of deliciousness.

While it’s not technically gluten-free, customers with gluten issues rave about how they are able to enjoy the piping hot pies coming out of Eli’s wood-fired oven.

And it’s that custom oven that puts Eli’s pies in a league of their own.

If you ask Gary, he’ll let you watch as the cheese bubbles and the dough takes on that brown crispy appearance that every great pizza requires. Pro tip: For an extra treat, tell him to let it stay in the oven just a bit longer, so you get those irresistible little burnt spots that add to the amazing flavor of an already outstanding pie.

While the pizza is famous, my personal favorite is his sliders.

Don’t tell my doctor, but I order a box of twenty every time~high cholesterol is a small price to pay for the heavenly delight of devouring a box of perfectly cooked mini hamburgers with all of the fixings.

Speaking of fixings, the best are the pickles that Eli’s uses.  Snappy, thick, and the addition that you can’t go without.

And then, there are the tallow fries. If you’ve never had fries cooked in tallow, boy, are you in for a delightful and mouth-watering surprise.

As Lokers explains, tallow is purified beef fat that has better flavor and is healthier for you than most other oils used in many commercial kitchens due to the absence of petrochemicals.

Customers trip over themselves to get their hands on these fries. They are like nothing that you’ve ever tasted before and will have you coming back again and again.
